Topo Architects will be working from a pop-up studio at Bottleworks (just along from Northern Rye) during Ouseburn Festival, from 2nd to 7th July.
Visitors are welcome to drop in, meet the team and see how we work. We will be sharing models, drawings and material studies from current and past projects, offering an insight into our collaborative design process.
The event is also an opportunity to speak with an architect about a potential project and sign up for a free initial consultation.
Free Consultation Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all free consultations provided by Topo Architects ("the Practice", "we", "us", or "our").
1. Purpose of the Free Consultation
The free design consultation is an introductory meeting intended to discuss a prospective client's project requirements, objectives, aspirations, and the potential architectural services that may be offered by the Practice.Â
The consultation is provided without charge and is intended solely to assist both parties in determining potential options for a project and if at a later date a formal appointment may be appropriate.
2. No Architectural Appointment
Attendance at a free consultation does not create a contractual relationship between the prospective client and the Practice.
No architectural services will be provided unless and until a written appointment agreement has been signed by both parties.
3. No Professional Advice
Any comments, opinions, suggestions, or observations provided during the consultation are preliminary in nature and are based solely on the information made available at the time.
The consultation does not constitute professional architectural advice and should not be relied upon for planning, design, construction, financial, legal, regulatory, or property-related decisions.
4. Scope of the Consultation
The free consultation may include:
Discussion of project objectives and requirements;
General guidance on the design and construction process;
Discussion of potential project timescales;
Discussion of possible procurement routes;
Overview of our services and experience.
The consultation does not include:
Full architectural design services;
Preparation of drawings, sketches, plans, or specifications;
Site surveys or measured surveys;
Planning assessments or formal planning advice;
Building Regulations advice;
Structural, engineering, legal, or cost consultancy services;
Detailed feasibility studies;
Written reports or recommendations.
The provision of paper or digital documents.Â
5. Duration
Unless otherwise agreed, free consultations are limited to 30 minutes.
The Practice reserves the right to conclude the consultation once the allocated time has expired.
6. No Guarantee of Outcome
The Practice does not guarantee:
Planning permission approval;
Listed building consent approval;
Building Regulations approval;
Project feasibility;
Project costs;
Project timescales;
Contractor performance; or
Any other project outcome.
Any discussions regarding budgets, timescales, approvals, or project viability are indicative only.
7. Information Provided by the Client
The Practice may rely upon information provided by the prospective client during the consultation.
The Practice accepts no responsibility for inaccuracies, omissions, or misunderstandings arising from incomplete or incorrect information supplied by the prospective client.
8. Intellectual Property
All concepts, ideas, sketches, drawings, documents, presentations, notes, and materials prepared or presented by the Practice remain the intellectual property of the Practice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
No rights, licence, or ownership are transferred through participation in the free consultation.
9. Confidentiality
The Practice will treat information disclosed during the consultation with reasonable care and confidentiality.
However, no formal confidentiality obligation shall arise unless a separate confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement has been entered into between the parties.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Practice shall have no liability for any loss, damage, expense, delay, claim, or cost arising from:
Attendance at the free consultation;
Reliance upon information discussed during the consultation; or
Any decisions taken by the prospective client following the consultation.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be excluded under English law.
11. Professional Standards
Where applicable, the Practice operates in accordance with the professional and ethical standards required of architects registered in the United Kingdom.
Nothing discussed during the free consultation shall be interpreted as creating professional duties beyond those required by law prior to a formal appointment.
12. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Either party may cancel or reschedule the consultation.
Where possible, prospective clients are requested to provide at least 24 hours' notice of cancellation.
The Practice reserves the right to reschedule or cancel consultations due to unforeseen circumstances.
13. Data Protection
Any personal information provided during the consultation will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
